Cheap Melissa & Doug Deluxe Grocery Store / Lemonade Stand Discount Review Shop

I bought this for my youngest daughter’s third birthday. I also bought some wooden foods (some of which are the cuttable velcro kind) and a play cash register/calculator, as well as the Melissa and Doug shopping cart. As part of a themed gift this was a big hit.
Having said all that, this is a very well made toy in and of itself. I was impressed with how solid and sturdy it is. It was easy to assemble and came with several shelves and bins and a two-sided canopy that says “grocery store” on one side and “lemonade stand” on the other. It’s easy enough for a five year old to switch the sign around. There are even small chalkboards to hang on the plastic bins so kids can label and price their items. There are lots of opportunities for pretend play and even some educational value, with adding up of prices and whatnot.
As soon as my daughter opened this present, my three kids immediately took it outside and had a vegetable sale from our garden. They made over ! I didn’t even really expect them to use it that way, but they had a blast. It drew the attention of several neighbors, all of whom loved the stand and pronounced it “the coolest birthday present”. I guess that says it all.

Cheap Smart Snacks Counting Cookies Discount Review Shop

I bought this toy to use at home for practicing numbers. My 6-year-old loves it! She knows her numbers but sometimes has trouble recognizing them in isolation, which is why I bought this toy. We have a few games we like to play using the cookies, which I thought I would share with you all in case you’re looking for ideas. We put all of the cookies in the jar and then we take turns choosing one, when I choose a cookie, she has to tell me the number by looking at the numeral. If she doesn’t recognize the number or she gets it wrong, we turn the cookie over and she counts the little M&Ms to tell me what the number is. Then I tell her something she has to do that many times. Then we repeat and she chooses a cookie, tells me what the number is, and I have to do that thing x many times. Some examples: jump, stick your tongue out, sit and stand up, spin around, go up x many steps, run to the bathroom and back, open and shut the refrigerator door, etc. After each turn, we lay our cookie down on the floor and then I ask her to tell me all of the previous numbers we have lying on the floor (for review). After we’ve done all of the cookies, I have her put the cookies in order. As a variation, before the last turn I’ll ask her to put the cookies in order and she has to tell me which number is missing and then we check the jar. Although this game is extremely basic to an adult, do not estimate how much it will tickle your little one. My child was overcome with the giggles throughout the whole game and wants to play it over and over because she likes to think of funny things she can make her mommy do (like smell inside stinky shoes).

Another game: hide one of the cookies and ask your child to put the cookies in order. They have to tell you what cookie is missing and then they have to find that cookie. This game is great because if you hide the cookie well you can check your email or empty your dishwasher while they search.

Only downsides to this toy: the lid doesn’t fit great and the product is made in China. Also, you may need to keep it out of reach of smaller children if you don’t want to lose your mind trying to find missing numbers. That’s the voice of experience.

P.S. Another great idea is to use the cookies to teach counting and numbers in a foreign language.

Cheap Barbie Toy Story 3 Made For Each Other Gift Set Discount Review Shop

These are not accurate replicas from the movie Toy Story 3 but they are close enough. My son is 3.5 years old and has pretty much all the characters from the movie so these were a cool addition. I want to note though that the accessories pictured do not come with the dolls so be aware before purchase. It’s a little misleading (but for my purpose it didn’t matter at all because he’s not playing with these the way a kid really into Barbies would – the Barbie didn’t have these accessories in the movie so my son isn’t missing them when he plays out scenes from the film using his TS3 figures or makes up his own story line using them).

Cheap Alex Toys Knot-A-Quilt Discount Review Shop

I am not much of a sewer or into crafts, so I was worried this would be kind of hard for my girls. I am pleasantly surprised that it was a great deal of fun to do! In fact, it was so much fun that I bought batting and backing and made it into a real quilt. Now, it’s very warm and my daughter loves it! I used embroidery thread to pull through at all the four-corner areas. I guess the only down part would be that it is kind of small even for a young girl to curl up into. It’s more like a lap quilt size. I would highly recommend this kit for anyone with kids.

Cheap LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game: Penguins of Madagascar Discount Review Shop

This game turned in to an instant hit with our son. He plays and likes all his games, but this one has risen to the level of “favorite” (one of them). I on the other hand was a bit disappointed. I think I expected more and better animation on this game. But it’s my son using, learning and playing with it, so I follow his lead for rating this game.

The game teaches: word building, animal facts, counting, addition, and subtraction. In the game the player plays the role of the Penguins team entering a competition in the Zoo. They are up against three other teams; King Julien’s team, The Monkeys, and another team I can’t remember right now (I will check it later). The aim is to win the Gold trophy (1st place). There are 5 different challenges to conquer in the competition. Each challenge teaches a different skill. At the beginning of each challenge the player can set the desired difficulty level (1, 2 or 3).

Once the competition start you have to go through all the 5 challenges to finish the competition. You win trophies by ending 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. There’s no trophy for 4th place. During the competition you can select a different level of difficulty at the beginning of each new challenge. After each challenge you are shown your position against the other three teams. The player gets the feeling of competing against other teams, so encouraging the player to do his/her best in a fun way.

The game has a “competition” mode and a “training” mode. In the training mode you can select anyone of the challenges separately to train your skills on that particular challenge. But in the competition mode you have to go through all the 5 challenges in succession till the end of the race.

Ps. This is NOT the same game as the Penguins game for the Explorer LeapFrog Leapster Explorer Learning Game: The Penguins of Madagascar: Operation Plushy Rescue which is also about the Penguins but a DIFFERENT game!
